2026 Kickoff Edition: Q4 2025 Highlights
A new year is the perfect moment to reset, regroup, and make sure you’re taking advantage of everything WorkBright shipped at the end of 2025 and look forward to enhanced compliance, security, and payroll accuracy in 2026.
Below is a curated look at what matters most as you head into the new year.
🚀 What We’ve Been Up To
✅ The 2026 Federal W-4 Is Live in WorkBright
The updated federal W-4 is now available for all WorkBright customers and this year’s update was not business as usual. Legislative changes tied to the Big Beautiful Bill required deeper updates than a typical annual refresh. Getting this wrong could have meant incorrect employee withholdings so our Product and Engineering teams went deep to ensure accuracy.
What’s been updated behind the scenes:
Updated withholding logic aligned with new federal calculations
Adjustments for dependents, credits, and multiple-job scenarios
Clear alignment between employee inputs and IRS-required calculations
Validation where appropriate to ensure clean, compliant payroll-ready data
If W-4 updates felt especially confusing this year, you weren’t alone. Our goal remains simple: help employers stay compliant and ensure employees are withheld correctly, without adding complexity to HR teams.
🧹 Cleaner Views with Inactive Submissions Hidden
To help reduce noise and keep admins focused on active work, we’ve improved how inactive staff submissions appear across the platform.
Inactive submissions can be hidden from key views, making it easier to:
Focus on active onboarding activity
Reduce clutter in inbox and account views
Spend less time filtering out records that no longer need action
This update is especially helpful for high-volume accounts where historical or inactive submissions can otherwise crowd day-to-day workflows.

🔐 Security & Trust
🆕 Password Enhancements (Important January Reminder)
To strengthen account security across the platform, we rolled out enhanced password requirements in 2025 with the first large wave of required resets already beginning.
What admins should know:
Passwords now require 12+ characters, mixed case, numbers, and approved special characters
Users are locked out after 5 failed attempts
Passwords expire every 6 months
Users cannot reuse their last 6 passwords
Good news for admins:
Full Access Admins can now unlock users and reset MFA directly from the platform, no support ticket is required.
🧾 Compliance Corner
👓 Clearer EAD & TPS Visibility
Compliance complexity around EAD and TPS designations continued to increase in 2025 so we focused on making reporting clearer and more actionable.
You’ll now see EAD Category and Country data automatically populated in reports using OCR where supported. For older records or documents that don’t auto-populate, admins can supplement information using custom fields to ensure complete visibility. Why this matters:
Better inventory of employees working under EAD or TPS
Faster, more confident compliance reviews
Less manual tracking outside the platform
And yes, this enhancement is included at no additional cost.
🔎 A Note on Compliance Thought Leadership
You may have seen our recent December Compliance Quickfire shared on Linked in as part of our monthly Compliance Brief. While that content is designed for a broader audience, it reflects the same compliance-first philosophy that drives the product updates you see inside WorkBright. We’ll continue sharing deeper, customer-specific guidance here with external content serving as supporting context when helpful.

💡Bulk Update Staff Records
Just a little reminder that if you need to make the same update across multiple staff records, you don’t have to do it one-by-one. WorkBright admins can use Bulk Update Staff to quickly apply changes across multiple employees at once saving time and reducing manual effort, especially for high-volume or seasonal teams.
This is particularly useful for:
Updating staff attributes at scale
Making consistent changes after policy or process updates
Reducing repetitive admin work
Head to chat and ask our trusty AI agent Wanda to provide detailed instructions for you on bulk updates.
We’re glad you’re starting 2026 with us and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
