In this article, we will go over the company section in the WorkBright settings and the features that you can use: Company Profile, General Settings, Admin Users, and Admin Permissions.
Note: In this article, we will look at all available functions. You may or may not have access to these, depending on the features set up for your account. If you see any that you are interested in, please reach out to [email protected].
Company Profile
This is the first screen you will see when you open the Settings page. In the Company Profile, you will set up important, mandatory information for your team.
The Company Name and Address will be important as they will be used across the WorkBright system. This includes your Time Zone, as it will be used as the baseline Time Zone for your company for any time stamp needed.
Your Employer Identification Number (EIN) is entered once in Company Settings and will be added to the W-4 for staff members who complete it, so employees do not have to supply it and administrators do not have to correct it afterward.
General Settings
Within the General settings you will set up many of the important parts of your staffs experience.
Under the Default Staff Type, you will pick the primary staff type you will use on your account: Employee/W2 (W-4 & I-9), Contractor/1099 (W-9), Other (No U.S. Federal Forms).
Start Date Required for Staff. This can be toggled on or off, though we strongly recommend setting it on. Start Date drives notification timing. Staff notification cadence for the Form I-9 and other date-forward assignments is calculated from it, so a staff record without a Start Date can be created successfully but will not receive notifications on the expected schedule. Requiring the field at the account level prevents records from being created without it, whether they are added one at a time, imported in bulk, or created through an integration.
The Notification Method toggle for both Remote I-9 and Onboarding determines whether the default notification delivery method is Email or Text.
Admin Users
The Admin user section shows you an overview of all admins, their email, and access level (Permission Policy), and allows you to edit admin permissions. From here, you can also add new admins or promote staff to admin level. To dig deeper, check our folder on Adding & Managing Administrators.
Admin Permissions
Admin Permissions is a feature you can add to your account to give you deeper control over what your admins can and cannot do. To learn more about Admin Permissions, check out this article. If you would like to add this to your account, reach out to our team at [email protected].
